Perched among the pines on a lava bluff above the canyons of Zion National Park, the equestrian center draws from its natural surroundings and materials. The log structural frame is harvested and milled on site and the lava rock bluff flows in to the lower facade veneer. The concentric design and earth bermed structure draws inspiration from the Austrian painter and designer, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, a favorite of the client.
